This Great Goose and Firkin

Holy moley, Goose and Firkin have done it again. After a spectacular one-loss season and steamrolling through the playoffs, the team in red repeated their championship run by defeating Georgy Porgys in two games. The final game came down to a late-inning rally that brought Georgy Porgys to within four runs but it wasn't enough. Goose and Firkin are champs again and really did earn every bit of it.

That being said, every team saw significant improvement this year. Willy Stouts Black was dominant in the regular season with the addition of a few new players, MCM Towing was a vastly improved and more exciting team to watch and Georgy Porgys showed they are capable of winning in the post-season (which is a first for this team).
Let's be thankful for a great season all around, congratulate Goose and Firkin for their win and thank Rick Page, John Sabino and Teralyn Coleman for doing all the hard work or keeping the league organized.
The action on the field is done until next spring but the annual banquet and beer-o-thon is happening at Willy Stouts pub on November 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through Teralyn at $20 per person. That will cover dinner and a chance to win one of many spectacular door prizes. Last year there were golf clubs, surround sound systems and lots of other good stuff, so don't miss out!

This will be the final post until next year but I would like to encourage you all to send in photos of your team. I created a photo section for the blog that remains empty and it would be nice to fill it up and show off what a great time we have at Pleasantview.

Thank you all for a great season!
