Hey, Take It Eeess-see!

TL:DR - Remember what Tony said, "Hey, Take It Easy."

Wow! Playoffs have officially started and there have been some big games. Willy Stouts Black, Goose and Firkin, MCM and Georgie Porgies have all won the first game of their series. Next week will see these series brought to their conclusion and the next round of games set up from there. Anything can happen at this point, especially in heated games between 3-6 seeded teams who are all pretty evenly matched.

I stopped by to see the Cougars and MCM duke it out on Thursday night and let me tell you, everyone is pretty psyched up. It was possibly the most entertaining game I have ever witnessed in Pleasantview and also the most heavily laced with dated pro-wrestling references.

Just so everyone knows what MCM is yelling about when you see them in action...

OH YOU DIDN'T KNOW?! MCM pulled out a huge win over the Cougars and like many of us tasting the sweet nectar of victory they were SUPER psyched up. The game was pretty heated and the umpires were taking a little abuse from both sides. That was nothing new though because there was an ejection in the previous night's game and nobody wants that sort of thing going on. Tensions are high and that is understandable but Teralyn does have a message for us all:

All Coaches,

As you all know, our Playoffs are now underway. A few reminders...

While we would like all games to go 7 innings, if teams are not prepared to take their own ownership and hustle, then games will go back to our regular time.

The berating of umpires STOPS NOW!!! You are all adults. While it is perfectly okay to ask for a rule clarification (ie there is no rule that says anything about a pitcher hitting a batter three times and they are removed from the mound) or to perhaps make an appeal on a call where you believe an umpire could have been blocked out, the constant hassling of any official is unacceptable. While umpires make the calls, they are calling the play that you made either successfully or not.

We do have a minimum tolerance for foul language in our rules.

Hopefully, as we proceed, everybody will do their best to remember that this is House League and we all need to get up for work the next day.

Have Fun and Good Luck,
Teralyn
